ADIDAS stands for Adolf "Adi" Dassler. It is named after the name of its founder Adolf "Adi" Dassler. Sometimes it is also referred as a funny full form "All Day I Dream About Sports"

ADIDAS is a German multinational corporation that designs and manufactures premium sports shoes, clothing and accessories. It is headquartered in Herzogenaurach, Bavaria.

ADIDAS is the largest sportswear manufacturer in Europe and the second biggest in the world. The parent company is ADIDAS group which also contains the Reebok sportswear company, TaylorMade-Adidas golf company (including Ashworth), 9.1% of FC Bayern Munich and Runtastic, an Austrian fitness technology company.


Adidas was registered on 18 August 1949 by Adolf Dassler. His elder brother Rudolf had earlier established Puma, which quickly became the business rival of Adidas and is also headquartered in Herzogenaurach.

The company logo of ADIDAS features three parallel bars and the brand name is displayed with a lower case letter "a". i.e. adidas.
