AIDS is an acronym stands for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. This is a very critical medical condition where the immune system of a person becomes very weak and the body is unable to fight against any infection. It must be clear that AIDS is a condition not a single disease. The main cause of AIDS is HIV or Human Immunodeficiency Virus. This virus attacks T-cells of the immune system of a human body gradually and when ignored, it completely destroys the immune system.
The weak immune system is a very easy target for viruses, bacteria and fungi that make a person sick. When the HIV is not detected and treated in initial stage, it gives room to AIDS. In its initial stage, a person feels the symptoms of common influenza like illness.
AIDS was first identified in 1981, and since then more than 30 million people are reported to have died.
There is no vaccine or proper treatment for AIDS although, many healthcare sectors has been taken huge steps and many other organizations are bringing awareness among the people of all over the world on how to prevent themselves from AIDS.
